Most projects need only basic, affordable supplies. I test everything in my own home before I post it, and if something is fussy, fragile, or just not worth your time, it does not make it onto this blog.

Have you ever looked around your room and thought, “I wish this looked better, but I have no idea where to start?” That was me a few years ago. I loved beautiful homes, but my budget said otherwise, and every tutorial I found seemed to assume I already knew what I was doing.

So I started experimenting at my kitchen table. A painted clay dish here, a homemade candle there. Some projects turned out great. Others went straight into the trash. But slowly, I figured out which ideas actually work for real homes and real budgets, and I started sharing them here.
